Orange you glad it is Spring??!!

Orange is all over the runways this spring, especially this deep almost redish-orange color! From clothing, shoes, handbags and interior merchandise, orange is found in almost every retail stores! This color is bold and absolutely stunning! Orange is perfect when wanting to standout in a crowd. Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, and Rebecca Minkoff integrated this show-stopping color in their Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection.

I absolutely love this color! Orange is the perfect color to represent Spring! This color can be worn day-to-night. You can be daring and wear the color in the form of a dress, pants, skirts or short & blazer suit. If you would like to ease into the color or do not like how the color looks against your complexion, you can minimize the amount of orange by using it as an accenting color in the form of shoes, handbags and other accessories. Either way, orange is a color that makes a statement.
It is a definite must have to add to your closet!!!!

Suit It Up

            Looks from the Runway

Christian Siriano Spring 2013
Michael Kors Spring 2013
Tory Burch Spring 2013

Elie Saab Spring 2013

This season, one of the biggest trends that I noticed was the short suit trend. It was spotted all over the runway and on all my favorite street style blogs. I think it is the perfect summer look, as it can go either super casual or really cute and dressed up for a night out. For today's look I paired my favorite pieces in my closet right now, my Theonne short suit with a skull tank, some oxfords and a wide brim hat (I told you I had a dying love for hats). You can also  pair this suit with a great silk tank, some thin strappy heels, and topknot and red lips for a more sexy look. The key is to go more simple as the suit itself is more of a statement piece, you don't want to overpower your outfit. So when this lovely suit came into work I just about jumped for joy at the thought of all the great outfits I could put together!! I had always wanted to try this look and now I can :) As the weather is just starting to warm up for spring, I will be sporting this look ALL the time. It's such a statement to wear the jacket and shorts together, however, each piece can go solo and still be fab.

What I'm Wearing:

Hat-Mint $30//Jacket-THeonne $325//Shorts-Theonne $243//Shirt-Mona B $18//Shoes-Mossimo $20//Earrings-Topshop $25

For me this spring and summer are going to be all about experimenting with different looks, colors, textures, and patterns and to just have fun with it all!

STRIPE central

Dolce & Gabbana
Michael Kors
Acne Studios
Sportmax
Ralph Lauren

Jonathan Saunders

Welcome back! Stripes, stripes, and more stripes. Whether they stand alone, pair them with a pop of color, or dare to mix more than one stripe together...stripes are a HUGE component of Spring 2013.

Dolce & Gabbana styled their striped pair of high waisted shorts with a bold floral print top. Love how they combined the two prints! Michael Kors kept the stripe print classic and simple. The looks shown are perfection. Sportmax knows how to do stripes. Perfect combination of color and width. Okay, as for Acne Studios, I love a good maxi skirt...especially a striped one with a high slit. Major cute and fashion forward. Midriff is very trendy at the moment, so of course Jonathan Saunders would combine an attention grabbing two piece striped look with a little skin. And last of the countless designers who showcased stripes on the runway this spring season is Ralph Lauren. Classic and colorful. This striped look combines a matador look with bright, bold stripes.

Stripes are so fun and easy to wear. Literally, they go with everything and add a little something extra to an otherwise blah look. They have always kind of been around, but the past few seasons they have become a "must have." I wanted to do rock a fun, flirty look...so I paired this black and white stripe tee with a bright hot pink circle skirt. Love the contrast of the two pieces!! All the accessories just add to the look to make it more cohesive. My take on the stripe; hope you like!!

Floral prints are blooming everywhere! They have been seen on numerous runaway shows for Spring 2013. From 3.1 Phillip Lim, Zac Posen, Alice + Olivia, Rebacca Minkoff, and Saint Laurent (to name a few). Each designer has a different take on the flowery print; some include vibrate colors and others are a lot more subtle. Whatever the case may be, the flowery print is a perfect representation of spring! It is fun, youthful, and lively! Wether you wear the flowery print from head-to-toe or as an accented piece, you will look striking!

[Romper & heels = BCBG] [Cross-body & bracelet = Juicy Couture] [Denim jacket = Forever 21] [Watch = Michael Kors] [Lipstick = MAC “Vegas Volt”]

For my look this week, I chose to wear one of my favorite rompers by BCBG. I styled the romper with neutral heels, a glittery cross-body, simple accessories, and not to forget my bold orange lip. I created an entire look that was the epitome of girly! I chose to make my look very feminine, but if you wanted to make it a bit more edgy, you can ditch the heels and wear the print with combat boots! Either way, it is a fun print to play around with during Spring!!
